Both games are really good, but I think I enjoyed GK more, thus it gets my vote.
The Secret of Monkey Island - All three GK games are good, very good, excellent, even fantastic, but still none can compete with the first two Monkey Islands 
Both are great of course and among my all time favorites, but I slightly prefer Monkey Island 2 over the first one and Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers is my all time #1 game. So Gabriel Knight gets my vote.
