Even though deep down I know Larry 7 is the strongest game in the series, Larry 6 will always be my favourite. I think it’s ballsier and I love the garishly tacky 90s art design.

Look at this monstrous work of art:

You can’t remake this. Tongue

I didn’t mind the graphics when I originally played the game, but looking at it now… sheesh, it’s just so ugly!

You know what else was ugly? Duchamp’s Nude Descending A Staircase, No. 2.

So hideous, so perfect.

Although I’ve tried them all except 7 I have never been been able to complete a Larry game, except the (very short) first one. I always lost interest early in the game.

If I gave them another try, it would probably be 6. I like the holiday resort setting.

On a side note, were there two versions of the game? The interface and graphics are different here:

The floppy version was MCGA (320x200), whereas the CD version also had an SVGA mode (640x480).

(GK1 was a similar situation, except that the SVGA version was only partly hi-res and ended up looking like a jarring mish-mash of hi-res and lo-res stuff.)

I was looking at the screenshot thinking something looked different, this is the version I played.

This was my favorite Larry. Love for Sail had superior graphics, but this one was just more fun. I did the point-count walkthru for this game on GAMERS in collaboration with a gentleman who’s name I’m embarassed to say I don’t remember.

Yeah, I thought the same. What happened? I mean, The fifth (fourth) game looked a whole lot better.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

I’m not sure “cute as a bug” is a compliment.

This always used to bother me as a kid - I remember the cursor icons looking fantastic and everything else looked like someone had drawn it out and sat on it.

I’m on a whole new adventure.
Growing a mustache?
No. Bigger than that.
A beard?!?
