Another Code R journeys into Europe this summer
Wii sequel to popular DS adventure set to arrive in June

With a title like Another Code, it seemed inevitable that there would actually be another at some point. And this summer, that's exactly what will happen in Europe, as Another Code R: A Journey into Lost Memories has been announced by Cing and Nintendo for the Wii.

Set two years after the events of the popular DS adventure (known in North America as Trace Memory), the new game once again follows the teenaged Ashley in a story "played as if in the pages of a mystery novel." Now 16, Ashley receives an invitation from her father to spend a weekend together at a camping resort called Lake Juliet. Richard had left Ashley to be raised by her aunt and uncle while he pursued his deceased wife's research into a memory control system called "Another", and this weekend is meant to draw them closer together again. When she arrives, however, Ashley realizes that "she has been to this resort before … she has a dim memory of being here just before her mother died 13 years ago".

In order to unlock these memories, players must guide Ashley though a series of puzzles, interacting with the resort's other inhabitants who "clearly know more than they are letting on about the events leading up to her mother’s death". Using the Wii remote to point-and-click through the watercolour-style environments, players will be assisted by Ashley's DAS, a device that lets her take photographs throughout the game. For a closer look at the game, there's a streaming trailer available on YouTube.

There is currently no confirmation of a North American version of A Journey into Lost Memories, and note that Wii games are region-encoded, so this European release will not run on North American consoles.
