I really wouldn’t want to bore you with details about my insignificant life. Time is precious, and so I’d rather try to use this space for something more useful... Hmm, something educational, maybe? For instance, did you know:

    – that the strain energy function of an isotropic material does not depend on the full strain tensor, but only on three independent scalar invariants characterising the metric properties of the deformation?
    – that awantë is indeed regular as the past tense of auta-, from an etymological point of view?
    – that Scrooge McDuck made his fortune by being smarter than the smarties and tougher than the toughies?
    – that the last word of the fourth tome of the Grand Robert en six volumes is orgastique?
    – that you can take screenshots in ScummVM by pressing ALT-S?
    – that the tale of Ali Baba was never really part of One Thousand and One Nights?
    – that a capsule in a shear flow will buckle at low capillary numbers, with folds appearing on the membrane?
    – that the dark lord Sauron began his literary career as Tevildo the evil pussycat?
    – that Voltaire, quite typically, condemned the use of être in the sense of aller, even though he himself used it in that fashion?
    – that Jane Jensen voiced a lesbian flapper in The Dagger of Amon Ra?
    – that out of the forty-six people who had entered the Château de Silling, only sixteen ever came out?
    – that life is like a box of chocolates?
    – that the French socialist party has been dominated for a century by two traditions, embodied by Guesde and Jaurès, and that the former has almost always prevailed over the latter, even though it has hardly ever achieved anything useful?
    – that the Grail was invented by Chrétien de Troyes, in the medieval romance Perceval?
    – that there’s definitely something wrong with the coordinate conversion puzzle in Schizm, probably due to the fact that the system lacks a zero?
    – that Percival Bartlebooth never completed the 439th of his jigsaw puzzles?

I’m sure you didn’t know all of that. So, you see: you’ve learnt something new today! And if you did know all that... Well... Hey! That means you’re me! Get back to work, you lazy thing!
