announcement: Christmas Quest re-release

If it's Christmas season, that can only mean one thing at Adventure Gamers (besides too much eggnog, valiant-but-futile efforts to still make the "good" list, and last-minute shopping, that is). That's right... the return of Christmas Quest: The Best Adventure Gamer Ever!

Yes, it's true. Back by popular demand (and by "popular", I mean no demand whatsoever), we are pleased to re-launch the game that puts the "NO" in "Noel".

If you missed it last year while you chased mammoths in the Syberian wilderness or kicked pylons in empty D'ni caverns, now's your chance to see what all the hype was about! Experience for yourself the poignant, heartwarming story of one dork's pursuit of the ultimate adventure, and guide him through a series of confounding conundrums that confronts him one particularly alliterative Christmas morn. (I just made that last part up.) From laughter to tears (possibly for the same reason), you'll run the full spectrum of emotions before all is said and done, and you will join the many other millio... err, hundr... okay, hopefully DOZENS of other adventurers in posing the question: just what IS the Best Adventure Game Ever? Does Christmas Quest answer that question? You'll have to play it to find out!

For those blessed by angels with the opportunity to play Christmas Quest originally, you'll find that it's well worth a replay. No bigger, no better than ever, you'll find the game has lost none of its initial appeal. And hopefully by now you'll have forgotten all the jokes. Beyond that, it's almost certain that you've yet to uncover all the possible semi-linear interactions and possibilities. So play it again, as if for the first time.

Oh, SURE, there are more modern games out there. But consider the other beloved Christmas classics, from centuries-old caroling favourites to visual achievements like Frank Capra's 1947 hit It's a Wonderful Life, the definitive 1951 Dickens classic A Christmas Carol, and Dr. Seuss' delightful 1966 animated feature How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's the timeless quality of these masterpieces that makes them so memorable. And believe me, these songs and shows have nothing on Christmas Quest when it comes to being hopelessly outdated, so you should enjoy it just as much.

At less than 7MB in size, there's no reason why even dial-uppers can't share in this Christmas Quest. So what are you waiting for? Hit that "Download" link now. It's Christmas come early!

And pssst.... Just what will Adventure Gamers have up their sleeve for this Christmas? That would be telling. But don't wander off, as this is one Christmas you won't want to miss.
